Alex Pearson is a lifelong artist with a passion for circus. She first discovered the aerial arts in 2012 and fell in love. She is a 250 hour-certified yoga instructor, CPFA aerial instructor, and ACE-certified personal trainer, with valid first aid and CPR-C. Alex currently teaches aerial hoop, aerial silks and aerial yoga at Tantra Fitness and makes custom costumes for the performance arts.
Alex’s first experiences in circus were in object manipulation. She has 10 years of fire performance experience, enjoys juggling, and rides a unicycle in her spare time. Notable performances include the 2008 City of Vancouver Winter Solstice Festival and the 2007 City of Vancouver Summer Solstice Festival.
Alex has an incredible talent for working with people new to the Circus Arts, having begun as an adult herself. She loves sharing her joy in movement with complete beginners, and their sense of discovery and amazement at what their own bodies can do is her favourite part of teaching. Her step-by-step approach and attention to detail empower new students, young and old, to discover new abilities and strengths in themselves that they never knew were there. It’s fair to say that circus is her passion and she loves sharing that with students.
